The High Bridge Soap Box Derby is scheduled for 10 a.m. on June 1, according to the High Bridge Soap Box Derby’s website.

The derby will be held on Main Street in High Bridge. The derby is open to those ages 8 to 14.

The derby is “a fun event for kids and their families because the kids get to race down Main Street in little cars that are built for them,” said Joe Dispenza, co-organizer of the derby. “It’s really just a fun event for the entire family.”

 

Dispenza said the children drive cars that typically are built by their families, but said that “we have a couple of sponsors that build cars for them, like the Host Lodge Masonic Temple.

“All the Main Street businesses are open of course, and then we have Tia B’s Street Tacos and Designer Dawgs” coming to the event.
