The official July 4th holiday falls on a Thursday in 2024, setting the stage for fireworks, parades, concerts and special events throughout New Jersey this weekend and into next week.

From small town celebrations to the massive fireworks displays in New York and Philadelphia visible from New Jersey, scores of events are planned to celebrate Independence Day.

Here’s a look at some of the Fourth of July festivals, parades and concerts planned throughout New Jersey this year.

Bergen County
-
State Fair Meadowlands in East Rutherford will have two fireworks displays on July 3 and July 4.

Paramus is holding its fireworks show at Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex on June 30. There will be a food truck festival at the event. The event begins at 3 p.m.; entry is $5 a person or $10 for a family of two or more.

Ridgewood will celebrate Independence Day with a full-day celebration: a flag-rising ceremony at Wisley Square will begin at 9:30 a.m.; parade will follow at 10 a.m., followed by live music, food trucks and a beer garden; and the fireworks finale will start at 6 p.m.

The New Jersey Wind Symphony will perform a concert on July 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park; songs by Leslie Mendelson, Jake Thistle, and Kristen Plumley will be performed.

Burlington County

Bordentown Township will have fireworks at Joesph Lawrence Park on July 3; festivities start at 4:30 p.m.

Florence Township will hold a Fourth of July celebration on July 6. The day begins at 11 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony at Oak Street and 5th Street, followed by a parade beginning at noon, which starts at the Veterans’ Monument at the Oak Street Circle. In the evening, a concert and food court will be held from 5-9:30 p.m. at the Municipal Complex and fireworks will begin at 9:10 p.m. at Veterans’ Park; Rain date is July 7.

Maple Shade’s Independence Day fireworks and parade are set for June 29, with a rain date of June 30. The parade will begin at noon at Steinhauer Elementary School and the fireworks will be at Maple Shade High School at Dusk.

Medford is hosting its celebration on July 3 from 6-10 p.m. at Freedom Park, 86 Union St. Fireworks will start at dusk, and there will be live music, a kids’ zone and food. The rain date is July 6.

Mount Holly will celebrate the fourth on July 3 from noon to 9:30 p.m. at 155 Wolner Drive.

Mount Laurel will have its celebration on July 3 starting at 5:30 p.m., with fireworks starting at 9 p.m. at Laurel Acres Park, 1045 South Church St. A live band, police dogs, a bounce house, police cars, an ambulance, fire trucks, face painting, food trucks and giveaways will all be a part of the celebration.

Camden County

The 2024 Freedom Festival at The Camden Waterfront will be held July 3 starting at 5 p.m. at Wiggins Waterfront Park, 2 Riverside Drive. Performances by Tara Hendricks and the Gin Blossoms; fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Battleship New Jersey will allow visitors on the main deck on July 3 from 7-10 p.m. The cost of admission to see the fireworks from the battleship is $10.

Willie Nelson’s annual Fourth of July Picnic will take place at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on July 4. Headlining alongside Nelson are Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Maren Morris, Mavis Staples and Celisse Join.

Cherry Hill will celebrate the fourth with fireworks on July 3 at Cherry Hill High School West. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., a masquerade band will perform at 8 p.m. and the fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Haddonfield’s The Yankee Doodle Do and Fireworks show will take place on July 3 starting at 5 p.m. Kings Highway by the Haddonfield High School. Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. There will be entertainment, food and activities for the kids. A Fourth of July Parade will begin at the corner of Kings Highway and Chestnut Street at 10 a.m. on July 4. There will be bands, including Mummers bands, the fire company, veterans, borough organizations and neighborhood groups.

Cape May County

Lower Township will have a festival starting at 5 p.m. on July 3 and set a fireworks show after 9 p.m.. There will be rides, food and entertainment.

Middle Township will hold its Fourth of July celebration on July 4 from 3-9:30 p.m. at the Gloshen Complex on 626 Gloshen Road. There will be live music, food trucks, games for kids and fireworks at dusk.

Stone Harbor will have fireworks and an Independence Day Concert from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on July 4 at 82nd Street Recreation Fields. Food trucks and live music will be at the event.

Cumberland County

Bridgeton will hold a Fourth of July celebration from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 4; fireworks will be set off at dusk.

Essex County

Millburn-Short Hills will have fireworks at Millburn High School on July 4. Morning activities start at 9 a.m. and the fireworks display begins at 7:30 p.m.

Livingston Township will have fireworks at Memorial Oval and Park on July 4 at 9 p.m. The evening includes a performance from the “We May Be Right” Billy Joel Cover Band, 20 food trucks, a beer garden, vendors and hatchet throwing.

Gloucester County

The Westville and Brooklawn Fireworks show, featuring live music and food trucks, will be held on June 22 from 6-9:30 p.m. at 1 River Drive.

Hudson County

After nine years of celebrating on the East River, Macy’s will launch fireworks over the Hudson River on Independence Day. More information, including where to watch the fireworks in person and over broadcasts, can be found here. Wyclef Jean will headline Jersey City’s July 4 celebration.

Mercer County

Hamilton Township is hosting a fireworks show and a concert on July 1 at Veterans Park. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with entertainment and food; fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Middlesex County

East Brunswick is holding a fireworks spectacular on July 4 starting at 6 p.m.; the rain date is July 5. The event will feature food trucks, a DJ, a performance from the East Brunswick Symphony Orchestra and children’s entertainers.

Milltown will host a Fourth of July celebration on July 4 at 6 p.m.; fireworks at 9 p.m.

Sayreville will have an Independence Day Celebration on June 29 from 4-9:30 p.m. at Kennedy Park.

Perth Amboy will celebrate the Fourth of July from 3-9:30 p.m. on July 3; fireworks start at 9:20 p.m. The rain date is July 5.

Woodbridge will have its celebration on July 3 with gates opening at 4 p.m. at Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park. Spyne and AM Gold will perform.

Monmouth County

Long Branch will host its Oceanfest 4th of July celebration with fireworks, live entertainment and food trucks on July 4.

Manasquan is hosting fireworks and a celebratory concert, featuring Wave Length, on July 2 from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Main Beach.

Middle Township will have live music, food trucks, games for kids and fireworks at dusk at the Goshen Complex at 626 Goshen Road from 3-9:30 p.m.

Ocean Township is hosting its Fourth of July celebration at Joe Palaia Park from 6-10:30 p.m. It will feature live music, fireworks, vendors and kids’ activities.

Morris County

The Washington Association of New Jersey is hosting a reading of the Declaration of Independence at Morristown National Historic Park at 1 p.m. on July 4.

Salem County

Salem County Fairgrounds 4th of July Festival will be held at the fairgrounds off Route 40 in Woodstown. A Firecracker 5K will be held at 8 a.m. on July 4. The grounds open at 4 p.m. There will be a DJ, food trucks, rides, games and concessions. Fireworks at dusk.

Somerset County

Somerset County will have fireworks at North Branch Park in Bridgewater on July 4 at 9:30 p.m. Garden State Groove will perform from 8:30-9:30 p.m. and 10-11 p.m. The NJ 3rd Regiment Revolutionary War encampment will be onsite. Food trucks will be available.

Hillsborough’s Family Fun Day and Fireworks will be held June 29 at the Auten Road Intermediate School field, 281 Auten Road. The Independence Day Celebration will feature inflatable amusements for children, a food tent, live music, carnival games and local organizations. The event begins at 5 p.m. Complimentary shuttle buses will be available from the Hillsborough High School parking lot beginning at 5 p.m. There is no public parking at the event. Rain date is June 30.

Union County

Union Township will host a Fourth of July concert at 7:30 p.m. on July 4, with fireworks following; the rain date is July 5.
