Union Fatherhood Coalition hosts Fatherhood Conference on June 8

The Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition is hosting its 12th annual Fatherhood Conference on June 8 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield. Reservations to attend to conference can be done online.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Healthy Fathers Building the Beloved Community,” according to a news release.

​

“As a father myself, I understand the challenges of maintaining a healthy balance,” said Rod Spearman, chair of the board of trustees and a charter member of the organization. “But I’ve experienced firsthand the rewarding feeling of improving the quality of life within my family and community. That’s why I’m passionate about the Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition and its mission.”

There will be four speakers at the conference:

​

• The Rev. Micah McCreary, the 12th president of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, will cover improving spiritual wellness

• Jason Murray will speak about improving financial wellness

• Dr. Leonardo Marmolejos will discuss improving physical wellness

• Reginald Williams will discuss improving “emotional wellness"

The discussion will be moderated by Bill Daughtry.
