Pride Prom to be held in Hunterdon County on June 29

Flemington QTs, a community organization dedicated to advancing LGBTQAI+ pride, is hosting its second annual Pride Prom on June 29 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hunterdon County Library Headquarters in Raritan Township, the group announced on Instagram.

“This year’s prom theme will be Getting the Banned (Books) Back Together. Come dressed in whatever makes you feel like your most authentic self,” QT’s post said.

The Flemington QTs - Flemington Queer Trans - is “a community, advocacy, and mutual aid group for and by LGBTQIA+ people in Hunterdon County and beyond.”

The organization is “so grateful to be able to host our second annual Pride Prom at the Hunterdon County Library,” said Jae Hoff, cofounder of Flemington QTs. “Hunterdon has not historically been a very accepting place for queer and trans folks but our goal has been to create a space for us here and to show that LGBTQIA+ belong here and everywhere."

“We truly appreciate all of the individuals, organizations, and local businesses that have supported this event and others. We hope to have a fun evening full of joy, music, dancing, photography, performances, and pride in our beautiful and diverse identities.”
